I am deeply saddened by the passing of my brother James D. York. The times we
met and discussed the opression of our people
and our need to be warriors that equaled those of African greatness, Sparta
greatness, Roman Greatness, Greek greatness and
what it meant to be a current day equivalent of Che Guevara, Fidel Castro,
Haydee Santa Maria and others. What we did individually and as an
organized revolutionary organization helped change the course of
history. The education we received from Malcolm X produced the drive
and determination that we will never kneel again to anyone, and our struggle
for total recognition must still continue.
In the spirit of Jimmy York who always proclaimed undying love for our people
and all oppressed people no matter what nationality,
I and my family will always keep Bashir James D. York Hameed in our hearts,
our minds and in our history that we pass on, write on, and advocate to our
family and others who wish to fight against injustice and promote love and
true human rights for all people. May Jimmy rest in peace. May Allah
understand our struggle and welcome Jimmy with great love.
