Polynesian Panthers
"Even though their legacy has far-reaching ramifications in New Zealand today, the history of the Polynesian Panthers is in danger of being lost, says Nevak 'Ilolahia.
"The privileges that my son and I enjoy today wouldn't have been possible if it hadn't have been for the work of the Panthers both here and in the States.
"Much like the Black Panthers inspired my uncle and his peers 40 years ago, I too was moved to tell this story after meeting Emory Douglas a year ago.
"This has been such an extraordinary journey and I've been truly humbled by the insights and stories that the Panthers have shared with me - he mihi aroha ki a koutou."
